60/40 Angora
Blend
This roving is a combination of the wool of the Angora
rabbit blended with a soft, sheep wool. We have tried, when
possible, to use rare-breed sheep wool. However, because
they are rare breeds, it is not always easy to come by good,
top quality wool of a specific rare-breed sheep. So, for the
sheep wool in this blend, we have used wool from either the
Romeldale sheep (rare-breed), or the Merino sheep. Both have
wool that is very soft, and has a high-crimp, spring and
loft, making a roving that is a delight to spin. |

Jacob/Alpaca 50/50 Blend
This roving is a combination of wool from the Jacob sheep
blended in equal part with the wool of the Alpaca. The wool
of these two animals combines to create a blend that when
spun will create a yarn with strength, loft, and softness of
handle.
The Jacob sheep is an ancient breed, and is now on the rare
breed list here in North America. It is striking as it is a
dual horned sheep, with a bi-colored fleece. The Alpaca is a
member of the camelid family, and is indigenous to the
mountain regions of South America. Its wool is very soft and
comes in a wide variety of colors. |
